THE BASICS:  Learn how to use your sewing machine or how to start sewing and/or quilting. All these classes are       appropriate for beginners and are rated “B” for beginner. The first requirement for all the rest of my classes, is being   comfortable with your machine. Please allow 2-3 hrs for each of the following classes.

                         “MAKE YOUR SEWING MACHINE YOUR FRIEND” - $35  Threading your machine & winding bobbins, properly, is more                                 important than you might expect. Discover why you should use a certain sewing machine needle, thread differences &                               lots of little hints that will be sure to make your machine your ‘best friend’!

 “LEARN TO SEW & MACHINE BASICS” - $35 w/kit  Let me teach you about the tools and techniques used in sewing

 & quilting.  You’ll learn your machine while you find out about needles, bobbins, thread & how important they are to

 your sewing experience. Make my ‘Super Simple Pillowcase’ while learning your new skills.

 “SERGING MADE SIMPLE” - $45 You won't be comfortable with your serger until you know more about threading,

 tension, differential feed, rolled hemming and handling your fabric while serging; sergers are so different than your

 sewing machine!

                     “MACHINE EMBROIDERY BASICS” - $45    Let me take the mystery out of your embroidery machine. Learn the correct way                          to hoop your fabric, stabilize & place your designs. Discover how to work with decorative threads, marking tools & more!                            All machine brands welcome.

 “LONG ARM QUILTING INTRO” - $45 Did you find your long-arm quilting frame and machine used? Or, maybe

 you ordered it online. In either case, you probably were left on your own to figure out how to use it.  I can help

 you to learn about threading, needles, leaders,loading, hand-guided quilting and Pantographs.

                                      Presentation/Lecture: “NEEDLES, THREADS & PINS, OH MY!” – $50 total.  There is so much to know about                                                  needles; types, sizes, uses – thread; quality, content, weight – pins; sizes, sharpness, types. I love to share

                                      all the ‘what, when, where & why of all three.

 AB – “FREE HAND QUILTING by MACHINE” - $50 Discover how your sewing machine can help you quilt

 any size project, even a bed sized quilt! I’ll share with you my own tips, tricks and toolsthat make

 free-motion machine quilting one of my very favorite things to do with a sewing machine!

 AB – “PERFECT, MACHINE STITCHED BINDING” - $45 You may never want to do binding any other way! I know I don’t! Let me guide   you through 3 different machine stitched bindings that you can use for quilts, runners, wall hangings, placemats

 or garments! Fast, easy AND secure!

 AB– “CREATING FAUX-CHENILLE FABRIC” - Learn how much fun it can be to ‘create’ your own fabric. I’ll

 show you the tricks for making a luxurious scarf or a plush throw. Your sewing machine, fabric & the right

 tool is all you need. Choose from my two hands-on options:

                 • Faux-Chenille scarf - $40; 2-3hrs    OR    • Chenille Throw - $60; 4-6hrs

 AB – “EASY APPLIQUE” - $45 Blend a few fun fabrics, a cool pattern and some fusible web to create your

 own fiber art. Applique is perfect for quilts, clothing, home dec and more! Let me show you how easy it is!
